Frequently asked questions
Do I need prior Pilates experience to enroll?
Yes. We require a foundational awareness of your body and the Pilates method before entering our programs. This isn't about gatekeeping; it's about making sure you get the most out of every hour of training. A personal Pilates practice helps you absorb cueing, sequencing and hands-on skills at a much deeper level. If you're not quite there yet, we'll work with you to build a plan so you're ready for a future cohort.
Why do you require prerequisites for modular courses?
Our modular courses (Cadillac & Tower, Chairs & Barrels, Advanced Mat) build directly on foundational knowledge. Requiring a Mat or Reformer certification first ensures every student in the room is prepared to go deeper, which means a better experience for everyone. If you don't have the prerequisites yet, reach out and we'll help you map out a timeline.
What makes this program different from other certifications?
We're building the gold standard in Pilates teacher training. Andrea Speir's methodology is rooted in a 600-hour classical certification, a decade of private practice, post-graduate Exercise Science credentials from Stanford, and real experience building and running multi-location studios. This program was created because too many talented instructors were graduating from other programs feeling underprepared. We're training instructors who think critically, observe carefully and are genuinely ready to lead.
What certification will I receive?
Graduates of the Comprehensive program receive a 500-hour certification recognized industry-wide. Individual module completions (Mat, Reformer, etc.) each come with their own module certification.
What is the refund policy?
You have 3 days from the date of enrollment to request a full refund. After that 3-day window, your enrollment is locked and non-refundable. If you have questions before committing, reach out and we'll help you make the right decision.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. The Comprehensive program and Reformer Certification both offer payment plans. Cadillac & Tower also has a 2-payment option.
What are the class times?
Regular class times are Fridays 4–7 PM and Saturdays & Sundays 12–6 PM. Advanced Mat runs 11 AM–3 PM. All training takes place at our Los Angeles studio.
Can I take individual modules without enrolling in the full Comprehensive?
Absolutely. Each module can be taken as a standalone course with its own certification.
How often are programs offered?
We run a full year of programming with a minimum of two rounds of every course. If the current dates don't work for you, there will be another opportunity coming soon. Reach out and we'll share upcoming dates.
